The Other Side (1st post root canal post)
Jul 24th
Well, I’m not dead. But, it was basically hell. Instead of 1 hour, it took a full 2 hours. The doctor said it was exceptionally tough since the roots of my teeth are long and curved. Before we started the assistant explained many parts of the procedure, and told me about what was going to happen so I could be ready for it. What she didn’t prepare me for was the smell. In the early parts of the procedure I was lying there still trying to adjust to breathing with the dental dam in. (A dental dam is a rubber More >
Oral Surgeon again
Jul 15th
Got the lower sockets re-packed again this morning. The doctor said everything looked like it was healing well. I have to go back to the office Saturday morning for what will probably be the last time. All they should do is remove the packing from the lowers. I could possibly have gotten away without the second packing, but I see no reason to do that. It’s easy for me to get to the office, and I really want to do this right.

What has two thumbs and can’t catch a break? This guy! ( does stupid pointing thing ) I moved the follow-up appointment with the oral surgeon to tomorrow since I’m almost out of pain medication. ( That’s not exactly why… ) I left work early today because the pain was getting pretty intense. On my way to the bus stop I decided to call the surgeon’s office and ask what I should do since I was almost out of pain medication and still having pain. They said they couldn’t give me a refill since for most people the pain had subsided More >

It’s Monday morning so of course I’m back at work. I’d like to say I’m feeling great, but I’m really not. I think the semi-sick feeling is from the anti-biotic and from not eating any real substantial food for 3 days. I haven’t taken anything for the pain since I woke up this morning, and last night I only took Ibuprofen before falling asleep. The pain seems to have moved into a new phase. It’s mostly a dull ache in my lower jaw now.
