Yesterday afternoon a bunch of us rode from downtown to Danno’s new place to watch the new Chicago Freeride video. He lives about 10 miles west of downtown, which is a long way in freeride terms. The ride there wasn’t nearly as bad as I expected it to be. We got to ride through the Puerto Rican neighborhood on the day of the Puerto Rican parade. This turned out to be a lot of fun. There were people cruising and hanging out on corners pretty much the whole way there. We didn’t have any trouble on the way there. We hit the Jewel near Danno’s for a 30 of PBR and some Pringles. We cruised to Danno’s place and chatted for a while until everybody else showed up. We watched the first video, ate some pizza and then watched the new video. After that we decided to roll back to the city and go to a party at the bar I used to work for. We managed to fit all the bikes in Julio’s truck and headed back to the city. The bar was hopping and Dan ( the manager ) let us put the bikes on the back deck. I stayed for a couple hours, and everybody was having a good time when I left. It was a great night.
